Baltic University Programme (BUP)

The Baltic University Programme (BUP) is a university cooperation involving more than 110 universities from ten countries in the Baltic Sea region.
This program focuses on education and research in the fields of sustainable development and democracy.
The goal of BUP is to support knowledge and cooperation in sustainable development and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), focusing on the following ten main BUP themes:
- Environmental protection
- Climate change
- Natural resource management
- Development of democratic processes
- Other aspects of sustainability

The program is intended for students of full-time bachelor’s studies (from the 3rd semester), master’s, and doctoral studies.
The scholarship is intended for participation in summer schools, conferences, thesis training, and research activities for PhD students.
The scholarship covers travel expenses in economy class.

The student will receive a scholarship to cover travel expenses by public transport in economy class.
The student must purchase the tickets independently, but before purchasing, they must send them for approval to the responsible person at pavla.soukopova@mendelu.cz.

Enter the Travel Proposal into the UIS (eAgenda – Trips abroad; please consult the faculty – instructions in English can be downloaded here).
insurance for the period abroad (including travel). The student is obliged to buy insurance for the entire stay abroad (including the days spent travelling from and back to the Czech Republic) under the general agreement of Mendel University prior to departure in accordance with Directive No. 4/2006, on provision of travel expense reimbursement and assignment of business trips abroad (all information is available here). Based on your travel proposal you can pay insurance online: students´s portal, financing of your study.
Submit the “Student Agreement” with the student’s signature and the faculty’s secretary’s (or dean’s, in the case of FA) signatures to IRO.

Submit original tickets, boarding passes, and a bank statement of the transaction.
Fill in the final report on the foreign stay in UIS (Student Portal → My Studies → My Foreign Studies → Evaluation of Foreign Stay).
Submit a certificate of completing the summer school – provide the original to the International Office of your faculty and a copy to IRO MENDELU, signed by the organizer of the summer school (no specific format is required, but it should be on official letterhead with the institution’s signature and stamp).
