In an era of marked by rapid changes, the resilience of universities has never been more crucial. Our upcoming International Week is dedicated to the multifaceted concept of resilience within the higher education sector. Together, we will share best practices, learn from experts, and collaborate on building a roadmap towards a more resilient future for our universities.

The IW 2024 will give participants an unique opportunity to find out more about our university, network and share best practices with other colleagues working for the international, study abroad offices or professional academics.

Blended Intensive Programme (BIP)
- This year´s International Week is organized within BIP programme. BIP combines physical and virtual activity. If you come as a BIP participant, you will take part in physical part of the International Week (workshops and seminars) plus virtual part. The virtual part will take place after the physical part of programme. As a BIP participant you do not have to pay a registration fee.
- Terms of participation:
- you have to come as STT (Staff Mobility for Training) and select the option in the Mobility Agreement
- you do not have to pay a registration fee
- please tick in the registration form that you want to participate in IW as a BIP participant
- Limited number of participants within BIP: max 25 persons

- Target Group both academic and non-academic staff of different fields of study
- Language English (at least level B2 is required)
- Duration 5 working days (8 – 12. 4. 2024)
- Costs The fee will cover the programme, participants are expected to cover their travel and accommodation costs and field trips (it is recommended to use an Erasmus+ grant provided by your home university)
University
Mendel University in Brno (MENDELU) is a public institution with a long tradition of excellence in teaching and research that has driven new ways of thinking since 1919 and proudly bears the name of J. G. Mendel, the founder of modern genetics. There are over 8,300 students at the university. Mendel University offers more than 100 different graduate degree programmes in Czech and English languages. The University comprises one Institute and five faculties: AgriSciences, Horticulture, Business and Economics, Forestry and Wood Technology, Regional Development and International Studies. The university campus is based in Brno, just ten minutes from the city centre. The university provides students with modern well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, and study rooms. A library, canteens and a pizzeria also form part of the campus, a large botanic garden, and an arboretum, a great place to study or relax.

Attending only the International Week 2024

- Individual meetings with representatives of the particular departments and discussion on cooperation possibilities
- The fee is approx. 75 EUR, the payment is made in Czech Crowns – 1800 CZK (not including the field trip)
IW as a BIP participant

Field trip
Field trip
- On Wednesday, participants can join us for a field trip.
- We will visit the beautiful Moravian Karst – Punkva Caves
- The Punkva Caves are a cave system of the Czech Republic located north of the city of Brno, near the town of Blansko. The Punkva River flows through it. Part of it is the Macocha Abyss, its sinkhole is about 138.7 meters deep and also the deepest of its kind (light hole type) in Central Europe. It is a popular tourist attraction for casual visitors to the region, in addition to cavers and advanced technical divers.
- Additional payment applies, the trip costs approx. 35 EUR, the payment is done in Czech Crowns – 850 CZK
