  • Target Group international students (Erasmus+, Erasmus+ Credit Mobility, Bilateral Agreements)
  • Duration 6 days – Welcome Week for summer semestr 2023/2024 takes place from 12 to 17 February

  • Costs 2000 CZK for Welcome Week, 400 CZK for ISIC card

  • Monday (February 12)
    • an official welcome session
    • meeting with other international students
    • help to organise administrative and study duties
    • taking pictures for ISIC card
    • university campus
    • a lunch buffet in the school canteen
    • opportunity to buy ESN card and czech SIM card from ESN MENDELU Brno
    • help with registration for online transportation pass if needed
    • opportunity to buy kitchen equipment
  • Tuesday (February 13)
    • Infomeetings with faculties
    • Czech language introductory courses
  • Wednesday (February 14)
    • trip to Znojmo
    • wine degustation in a small traditional wine cellar
  • Thursday (February 15)
    • trip to Macocha Abbys and boat ride in Punkva caves
    • Welcome Flag Party
  • Friday (February 16)
    • a day off to relax and regain your strength again
  • Saturday (February 17)
    • city game or guided tour of Brno

  • Registration is mandatory for the participation at the event
  • only registered students will be allowed to participate
  • the registration will be sent to your email by our incoming coordinator

2000 CZK for participation
400 CZK for MENDELU ISIC card
  • Other payments aren’t accepted. 
  • Only students who have registered and paid for the Welcome Week will be allowed to participate.
  • The deadline for the payment is to be announced.

  • Payment Info – enter your payment amount in czech crowns:
    • 2000 CZK to the third column – Participation Fee
    • 400 CZK to the last column – ISIC card (Erasmus+ students only).
    • Please note that this step is important, you have to differentiate the fees, but the payment is only once at the same time!
  • Payment method – select your preferred payment method to complete your payment in your home currency. For debit/credit card payments, enter your card details online to complete your payment in your home currency. For bank transfers, follow the instructions provided to send your funds. Depending on your bank, payment may be made online, in person, or over the phone.  
    • Note: Additional local payment options may be available depending on the country you are paying from.  
  • Payer Info – enter some basic information to initiate your payment booking.  
  • Info for the receiver – enter only your name, surname, and email and as the Program name write Welcome Week SS 2023/2024

FAQ

  • It is not compulsory to participate in Welcome Week, although we highly recommend it.
  • You can use someone else´s payment card. Ask your parents or friends.
  • Unfortunately, we accept only payment via Flywire.
  • It gives you access to classrooms, labs, dormitories and other MENDELU facilities. You will need to use university printers, scans and copy machines. You can use it to pay in MENDELU canteens and cafeterias. And it will also get you a student discount at many places outside MENDELU. Thus, it is not only necessary, but also convenient.
  • Unfortunately, our systems cannot read ISICs issued by other institutions and thus, we cannot upload your access rights to it. Therefore, you also have to buy MENDELU ISIC.
  • Lunch in student canteen on Monday, trasportation during trips outside of Brno, entrance tickets to the chateau and caves, wine degustation.
  • Your involvement in the Welcome Week activities is solely up to you. Though, we highly recommend Monday and Tuesday information sessions as you will get all the necessary information there.
  • The price of the participation fee can be reduced to 1000 CZK, if you take part only in one of the two trips and if you specify in the registration form which one it will be.
