  • Target Group international students (Erasmus+, Erasmus+ Credit Mobility, Bilateral Agreements)
  • Duration 4 days – Welcome Week for winter semester 2026/2027 takes place from 14 to 17 September
  • Registration from 1 to 10 January
  • Costs 1. Free of charge – Monday and Tuesday informative sessions, 2050 CZK – Wednesday and Thursday trips out of Brno, 1050 CZK if you want to take part in one trip only, 450 CZK – ISIC card

  • Monday (September 14)
    • meeting with other international students
    • an official welcome session
    • help to organise administrative and study duties
    • taking pictures for ISIC card
    • university campus
    • a lunch buffet in the school canteen
    • opportunity to buy ESN card and czech SIM card from ESN MENDELU Brno
    • help with registration for online transportation pass if needed
    • opportunity to buy kitchen equipment
  • Tuesday (September 15)
    • Infomeetings with faculties
    • Czech language introductory courses
  • Wednesday (September 16)
    • Trip to Lednice (UNESCO Cultural Heritage site)
    • wine degustation in a small traditional wine cellar
  • Thursday (September 17)
    • trip to Macocha Abbys and Punkva caves
    • Zipline ride at Velká Dohoda adventure park 
    • Welcome Flag Party – ESN card provides free entry

2050 CZK for trips on Wed & Thu or 1050 CZK in case of one trip only

  • Only students who have registered and paid for the Welcome Week will be allowed to take part in the trips on Wednesday and Thursday.
  • The deadline for the payment is 31. 7. 2026.

  • Payment Info – enter your payment amount in czech crowns:
    • 2050 CZK or 1050 CZK to the third row – Participation Fee
    • 450 CZK to the last row – ISIC card (Erasmus+ students only).
    • Please note that this step is important, you have to differentiate the fees, but the payment is only once at the same time!
  • Payment method – select your preferred payment method to complete your payment in your home currency. For debit/credit card payments, enter your card details online to complete your payment in your home currency. For bank transfers, follow the instructions provided to send your funds. Depending on your bank, payment may be made online, in person, or over the phone.  
    • Note: Additional local payment options may be available depending on the country you are paying from.  
  • Payer Info – enter some basic information to initiate your payment booking.  
  • Info for the receiver – enter only your name, surname, and email and as the Program name write Welcome Week SS 2025/2026

FAQ

  • It is not compulsory to participate in Welcome Week. However, we highly recommend to take part at least in the informative sessions on Monday and Tuesday as they are free of charge and you will receive all the necessary information regarding the organisation of your studies at MENDELU. 
  • You can use someone else´s payment card. Ask your parents or friends.
  • Unfortunately, we accept only payment via Flywire.
  • It gives you access to classrooms, labs, dormitories and other MENDELU facilities. You will need to use university printers, scans and copy machines. You can use it to pay in MENDELU canteens and cafeterias. And it will also get you a student discount at many places outside MENDELU. Thus, it is not only necessary, but also convenient.
  • Unfortunately, our systems cannot read ISICs issued by other institutions and thus, we cannot upload your access rights to it. Therefore, you also have to buy MENDELU ISIC.
  • Lunch in student canteen on Monday, trasportation during trips outside of Brno, entrance tickets and wine degustation.
  • Your involvement in the Welcome Week activities is solely up to you. However, we highly recommend Monday and Tuesday information sessions as you will get all the necessary information there and they are free of charge.
  • If not, the price of the participation fee can be reduced to 1050 CZK, if you take part only in one of the two trips and if you specify in the registration form which one it will be.
