Mendel University in Brno warmly invites you to participate in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) on Circular Economy and Sustainable Socioeconomic Development, hosted by the Faculty of Business and Economics. This unique programme combines short-term mobility for both online and physical components. The face-to-face session is scheduled from June 01-05, 2026, while the online part will be on June 19, 2026. Designed primarily for students, the programme also welcomes staff members to join.

Online part
- activity: presentation of Seminar Work (Ing. Radovan Kožíšek, Ph.D.; Mgr. Eva Šerá, Ph.D.; doc. Ing. Pavel Žufan, Ph.D.)
- Team presentations: each student will participate in their team presentation summarizing their seminar project´s results and highlights
- topics for seminar work:
- Increasing circularity within a selected circular chain using the “Circularity deck” tool – explained in detail on 4.6. by Dr. Tamáš
- circular economy strategies in specific industries (e.g., fashion, electronics, food)
- economic aspects of the circular economy and bioeconomy: Circularity within the supply chain
- the role of digitalization in enhancing circular economy practices
- strategies for engaging communities in circular economy transitions
- Challenge-Based Learning Integration: Students will also present solutions developed during the onsite part and refine them during the online session, receiving feedback from peers and experts to enhance the practical applicability of their work
- format: a 15-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute Q&A session for each project
- wrap-up: closing remarks, evalution of the program, and discussion of potential follow-up activities or future collaborations
Program Objectives
- Equip students with a comprehensive understanding of circular economy principles and their application to sustainable development.
- Develop practical skills through workshops and case study analyses.
- Facilitate networking and collaboration among students and experts in the field.
- Provide real-world insights through a field trip and seminar work, linking theory with practice.
Outcomes
- Students will gain knowledge and skills in circular economy concepts, become familiar with the role of policy and innovation, and understand the socioeconomic impacts of sustainable practices. Through the seminar work and online presentations, they will also develop presentation and teamwork skills.
